These are two of signs at the head of the South Kaibab Trail. The sign says it's 7.3 miles to Phantom Ranch! Many say you cannot judge distance into the canyon, but that sign plus my experience of doing Squaw Peak and Camelback Mountain in Phoenix made me very aware that this was a long way!
