This is called the Tonto Plateau. The trail on the plateau is only slight less inclined because it is so straight! In the middle of the picture you can see a hiker heading down. It seems like you're nearly there at this point, but there is still a lot of trail left to go as you enter the inner gorge. The gorge is much larger than it appears at this point!
